Supporting students through competitions, partnerships and mentoring

Technical skills are fundamental to many industries and drive the modern economy, so we have a long-term commitment to supporting young people to help them develop their skills and give them a better starting position for the future.
We believe that there are many people with innovation potential in Slovakia, but they don't always get the space to develop it. This was also the reason why we participated in the third annual Pronea Hackathon in Partizánske.
Pronea Hackathon
For several years, we have been supporting the FIRST LEGO League competition aimed at developing STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in children. The hackathon was a new experience for our company and Martin Jančo, CEO of M2M Solutions, actively participated as a judge. He saw the main difference in the approach to projects: “While FLL teams work on topics with an emphasis on their attractiveness, Hackathon teams also focus on solving problems of their generation as they start life,” Martin praised.
The hackathon was organized at a high level. It was attended by 6 teams consisting of high school and university students. Interestingly, the organization was provided by volunteers.
Mentoring the Olively team
It wasn't just a one-time experience for us. We took back to Žilina a commitment to support a team with huge potential. It's a decision that is a result of the exceptional atmosphere and determination the teams showed in 48 hours.
The mentoring of the Olively team is currently underway. Our goal is to help the team develop the project and improve their skills in the area of business development. As Martin, who became an Olively mentor after the Hackathon, said: "As long as I help at least one person, it makes sense."
We believe that this initiative will help Olively achieve great success and prepare them for future challenges.
Pronea is a transformational project in Upper Nitra focused on education. Its mission is to build a community ecosystem and a high school of the future. One of the areas that Pronea focuses on is innovation.
