Thanks to DYMS, we are expanding worldwide!

Our verification team oversees the testing of products that we are constantly innovating, developing, and adapting to the latest technologies. That is why it is an integral part of our company, ensuring that everything is perfected, which also involves direct cooperation with developers when deploying products to customers.
Testers are also in the field
A tester is not just someone who sits at a computer and clicks. A tester is someone who also works with hardware, visits customers, and prepares documentation for product deployment based on the actual situation at the customer's site.
DYMS is of interest to the whole world
We are currently working with Continental, which has branches all over the world and whose innovation testing center is located in Slovakia. One of these innovations is our Dock & Yard Management System (DYMS) project, which was deployed at the Zvolen branch. Following a successful pilot, other plants around the world are now also interested in the system.

Toulouse: A new destination for DYMS
After the Brazilian plant in Guarulhos, the next stop for the implementation of the DYMS product was the plant in Toulouse, France, where we sent our Janči. Equipped with safety shoes, a reflective vest, and all the necessary documents, he set out to explore the conditions for installing the hardware in the actual premises of the plant.
How the DYMS system works
The task of the DYMS system is to ensure the coordinated processing of scheduled and unscheduled deliveries (unloading/loading), as well as to guide drivers through the unloading/loading process within the plant, thereby reducing the workload of gatekeepers.
To enter the plant, the driver must register at the kiosk. If the plant has its own mobile communication devices, after successful registration, the driver is automatically assigned one device by the system, which is stored in a so-called parcel locker. The driver then receives instructions on how to proceed on the device. If the plant does not have mobile devices, the instructions for the driver are sent by the system in the form of SMS messages to the phone number that the driver enters during registration at the kiosk.

Technical challenges at the French plant
At the Toulouse plant, it was necessary to determine where and under what conditions the kiosk could be installed, as well as the appropriate location for sensors to detect vehicles parked under the docks.
Given the different types of vehicles parked under each dock and the different designs of the docks themselves, it was necessary to come up with customized solutions. In addition, Janči's task was to identify suitable locations for cameras to recognize vehicle license plates for the automatic lifting of ramps at the entrance and exit of the plant.
Preparation of hardware and documentation
Janči discussed possible modifications to the premises with plant employees and the subsequent possibility of installing hardware for the DYMS system and preparing the infrastructure for the hardware.
At the end of the day, when a joint meeting of several parties involved, including colleagues from our company, took place, Janči's final task was to prepare documentation based on the findings from the real environment of the plant. Thanks to this documentation, further steps could be taken to prepare a plan for the final installation of the hardware at the customer's site.
Verification team as Quality Gate
Our verification department functions as a Quality Gate, which is why they are involved in almost the entire process. The next step will be to complete the hardware in our company, test it, and, after sending it to the customer, install and test it in the plant environment. We can't wait!
