Growing demand, trucks on expedition without order

SHP Harmanec is a long-established manufacturer of pulp and paper products, part of the SHP Group — one of the leaders in the field of sanitary paper in Central and Southeastern Europe. The plant with a 195-year history (founded in 1829) ensures a continuous flow of material and daily logistical operations in the production of tissue paper.

However, with growing demand and planned growth in production, the pressure on the dispatch of goods also increased. The original method of planning the arrival of trucks did not ensure their uniformity or balance during the day or week — trucks arrived in spurts, not according to the real loading capacity. This imbalance directly reflected in the risk of delayed deliveries of goods to customers.

SHP Harmanec needed a system that could plan the arrival of trucks in time windows according to the real capacity — without Excel tables and without dependence on phone calls between carriers, suppliers and dispatch.

Are you dealing with the same problem in your operation?

  • Is your production and shipping volume growing and the original method of planning loads can no longer handle it?

  • Do trucks arrive for shipping in spurts, not according to the real capacity of your loading ramps?

  • Do you plan and record transportation via Excel or by phone with carriers?

  • Do you not have a simple and quick overview of which deliveries are late and why?

  • Do you need to connect transportation planning with your central ERP system?

Good news: the solution connects directly to your ERP and gives carriers access to only what they need — without having to change the entire information system.

One system, connected to the main ERP

TLS uses information directly from the central ERP system ESO enterprise. Thanks to this, the system also plans and optimizes transport between warehouses and unloading windows for goods that SHP Harmanec purchases from suppliers for resale — not just outgoing shipments.

  • Connection to the central ERP system ESO enterprise.

  • Planning transports between warehouses for the purpose of efficient shipping from one place.

  • Efficient sharing of information between carriers and suppliers.

The first version of the TLS M2M system was delivered within 3 months of signing the contract, in the fall of 2016.

Loading according to time slots, not first-come, first-served

The time window organization system allows you to plan loading in individual warehouses and loading points of the company. Transport companies will get access to planned transports directly in the system, with the option of registering for a specific time window — instead of negotiating by phone or email.

  • Tracking processes related to the organization of loading of goods.

  • Optimization of loading and dispatch of goods across warehouses.

  • Simple and fast reporting of information necessary for decision-making.

Other operational improvements

  • Significant reduction in unplanned truck arrivals thanks to control of their number at the entrance.

  • Stabilization and standardization of processes at both reception and dispatch.

  • Easy tracking and monitoring of transport efficiency, on-time delivery and quality.

  • Elimination of hidden costs in processes and improvement of relations with transport companies.

  • Fewer unplanned production stops due to logistics and lower inventory levels.

A new level of expedition management from M2M Solutions

Connection to existing ERP

TLS draws data directly from the customer's central ERP system. Nothing is duplicated in Excel, nothing is rewritten manually.

A solution tailored to growing operations

We designed the system to handle the increase in production and shipping volumes — not as a universal template, but according to the real capacity of SHP Harmanec warehouses and loading bays.

Rapid deployment with measurable results

The first version was operational within 3 months of signing the contract — and brought a measurable increase in shipping and a decrease in costs, not just a technical improvement on paper.

One partner for HW, SW and further development

From analysis to implementation to connection to ERP and further development, M2M oversees as one partner — without the need to coordinate multiple suppliers.
